Taking "Real Partnership" to a new level

In a few days, three friends of Partners International will be arriving in the Middle East for a two week exploratory visit hosted by our Area Director. Together, they will be meeting many of our Ministry Partners in that region to become acquainted with how their organizations work. As part of a new concept called “The Stewardship Initiative,” Partners International is linking up experienced, professionals in various fields such as accounting and project management with national, indigenous leaders who are asking for special help in specific areas of management.

As the three men visit each of the Ministry Partners, they will be learning just how their personal backgrounds and areas of expertise might be of help to the local organizations. Hopefully, we will then be able to create some “professional mentor” relationships that can continue on for the three businessmen even after they have returned to the U.S. Through email, phone calls and occasional on-site visits, these professional volunteers will offer personalized advice and counsel to the Ministry Partner organizations.

If all goes well with this trial initiative, we hope to facilitate many more of these sorts of mentoring relationships with our Ministry Partners around the world. By doing so, we will see an exciting new dimension to our definition of “Real Partnership.”

Under His wings,

Jon Lewis
